When we got the dehydrator oven we didn't know how much we would love dehydrated fruit chips. Dehydrated Fuji Apple chips or dehydrated Navel Orange chips get gobbled down quickly.
Fresh apples and/or Navel Oranges are sliced approximately 1/8" thin and spread on a drying rack in a 158 F oven. The apples are often sliced using a mandolin. The oranges are always sliced using a chef's knife. Our mandolin doesn't do well with the oranges. Both are usually done in less than 10 hrs. Then stored in Mason Jars until happily gobbled down. Great as snacks or as a light desert.
